François Choquette calls for investments in social housing

Drummond MP François Choquette rose in the House of Commons on Tuesday to draw the Liberal government’s attention to the need to invest in social housing. Mr. Choquette met with representatives of Drummondville’s municipal housing office prior to the tabling of the 2016 Liberal budget to gain a better understanding of the social housing situation in the greater Drummond area.

“My constituents want to know what the Trudeau government will actually do for the people of Drummond. Budget 2016 includes commitments to develop a comprehensive housing strategy, but is this merely a tactic to delay the funding process for affordable rental housing?”

The NDP is calling on the federal government to take immediate action to help the 1,550,000 Canadian households with pressing housing needs.
