François Choquette elected chair of all-party Climate Change Caucus

MP François Choquette, re-elected in the riding of Drummond in the last federal election, was elected Chair of the All-Party Climate Change Caucus this week in Ottawa.

“Ever since I first took my seat in the House of Commons, I have made the environment one of my top priorities,” said Choquette. “Today, I am pleased to have earned the confidence of my colleagues and become chair of this caucus, which brings together MPs from all parties. Urgent action is needed to implement the measures set out at the Paris Conference in December.”

In the last election campaign, Choquette was endorsed by the Toronto environmental group GreenPAC for his extensive work on environmental issues. Choquette was the NDP’s deputy environment critic during his previous term, when he was vice-chair of the All-Party Climate Change Caucus.
